ALICE DI LAURO
indie pop / spoken word
You will hardly meet a most unique artist than Alice Di Lauro. She began her activity as a self-taught tightrope-walker in the streets of Venice, Italy. From that moment on, she has released several performances and poetic actions in nature, art galleries and abandoned spaces.
She approached the world of music world with the same naturalness, as a non-musician. After acting in a music video, she met Are You Real? and sang to him. That’s how they released their first song together, Hunt Me Down.
The lyrics and the melody just flowed out of me. I use to sing to myself while I walk. That’s it.
All her performances, actions and songs have in common the same listening attitude, openness to improvisation and conscious presence.

Two voices, a dark beat, an ethereal pop melody. This is Hunt Me Down, the first fruit of the unusual collaboration between the musician Are You Real? and the tightrope-walker and performer Alice Di Lauro. “We just worked on our voices” says Alice. “We wanted to talk about desire, need, contact. The spiritual nature of love. What we need in days like these.”
Recorded in a single session during the lockdown, the song is about our need of connection in times of isolation.
